Wheatland Regional Library Press Release November 7, 2004 Wheatland Regional Library Gives the Gift of Reading to Third World Country This Christmas, the Wheatland Regional Library is donating over 100,000 used books to HELP International’s Books and Computers for Africa program. Jay’s Moving and Storage will transport the books from Wheatland Regional Library Central Services in Saskatoon to Weyburn free of charge. As well, Hy-Grade Millwork Ltd. has donated a forklift to assist with this massive project. The discarded library books are scheduled to be delivered to Africa on December 29, 2004. “It’s wonderful to see the community of Saskatoon work together in providing a long lasting gift to disadvantaged communities in the Third World. The Wheatland Regional Library is proud to be a part of this worthwhile program,” comments Library Director Michele Fedyk. HELP is an international organization founded in Weyburn that helps disadvantaged communities at home and in the Third World. Wheatland Regional Library provides library service to the residents of West-Central Saskatchewan through 45 branches and 142 municipalities covering an area the size of Nova Scotia.
