Wheatland Regional Library Receives Generous Donation for Eston Branch

The Wheatland Regional Library has received a $6,000 donation from the Bertram family. Barb (Fry), Edward, Robert Bertram have each donated $2,000 in memory of their parents Frank and Gloria Bertram. The Bertram family’s homestead is located in the Eston area where they raised fourteen children.

“My parents were strong supporters of literacy and education,” comments Barb Fry, daughter of Frank and Gloria Bertram. She remembers her parents purchasing a set of encyclopedias for the family.

The money donated will be used to purchase library materials for the Wheatland Regional Library and located in the Eston Branch Library. Special book plates will be designed and placed in each book purchased acknowledging this kind donation and remembering Frank and Gloria Bertram.

“We are thrilled and most grateful to have received this generous Christmas gift that will be used to enhance our collection of library materials for the community,” comments Wheatland Regional Library Chairperson, Arlene Pederson.

Established in 1967, Wheatland Regional Library provides library service to the rural communities in West-Central Saskatchewan through its 46 branches and 142 municipalities covering an area the size of Nova Scotia.
