Allan Contact Box 40 Allan, Sk S0K 0C0 Phone: 257-4222 allan.library@wheatland.sk.ca Hours Monday Wednesday Thursday 1:30 - 6:30 7:00 - 9:00 1:00 - 5:00   Location: In town office via seperate entry Description Allan Branch Library opened in 1972 with Mrs. Mae O’Hagan as Board chairperson.  Mrs. O’Hagan has been involved either as a board member or a library volunteer, until December 2003.  Circulation for the first full year of operation was 7,288. The Branch moved to more spacious quarters when the new Town Office / RM of Lost River building opened in late 1983.  The Allan Branch is open eleven hours and has one staff member and several volunteers. Fund raising over the years has included bake sales, book sales, and working as BINGO runners.  To purchase the first library computer the RM of Lost River, Town of Allan, Allan Centennial Housing Authority, and the Potash Mine all donated.  The Allan Creative Players donated money to purchase library computer desks and a filing cabinet. At present Allan has three Public access computers.  The Branch shares a high speed internet connection with the Municipal Office.
